Devin Booker is the new all-time leading scorer for the Phoenix Suns

It means everything. Just being drafted to a franchise that believed in me, taking a chance on me as an 18-year-old kid and going through a rebuild phase and just sticking with it. Keeping my head down. The love and support has always been there. I don't take it from granted.
D.Booker became the Phoenix Sun’s all time leader scorer on Monday night after breaking Walter Davis' franchise record of 15,666 points. Booker had his family and friends in the crowd to cheer him on and even the Portland fans showed love!
The previous record holder, Walter Davis, played for the Suns from 1977 to 1988. Davis died in 2023 at the age of 69.
Rest in Peace Walter.

If I had to choose between my wife and keeping Luka on the Mav’s, catch me at my lawyer’s office prepping for a divorce.
Unless you’ve been under a rock, you definitely have heard about what I feel is the biggest trade in NBA history! So big that Mark Cuban once said: "If I had to choose between my wife and keeping Luka on the Mav’s, catch me at my lawyer's office prepping for a divorce." Cuban’s role with the Mav’s has shrunk since selling majority control and retaining a 27% interest. We’re quite sure that this trade wouldn’t have happened if Cuban was still in control.
Many Dallas fans are devastated, and unfortunately this trade puts into perspective that the NBA is a business first. We wish Luka, and Anthony the best of luck on their new teams!

Due to the Luka/Anthony trade, many NBA players now feel that anyone is up for grabs. Players such as Kevin Durant, and Nikola Jokic were both stunned and expressed longterm tenures are in so many words not guaranteed anymore. Coaches also deal with job security anxiety. For instance, just last year Former NBA coach Monty Williams was fired after one season with the Detroit Pistons. Also, former WNBA coach Teresa Weatherspoon was fired after just one season with the Chicago Sky.
When we take a look at a team like the Detroit Pistons, it’s hard to imagine an overnight success story. Of course no one came into this season thinking that the Detroit Pistons would win a championship. But I’m sure fan’s as well as the staff were hoping for improvement, which they’re currently working towards (they currently sit at .500). The Piston’s last hit the .500 mark in the 2018-2019 season.
Expecting coaches to come onto loosing teams and turn them around in one season is a tall task to ask. But, these are the times that we’re living in.

The James family stays winning! Bryce James, the youngest son of Lebron James, has committed to join Arizona as a member of the 2025 class. Could he become the third James in the NBA?
Dawn Staley ink historic 25M deal

University of South Carolina Legendary Coach Staley is now the highest-paid coach in women's college basketball after she signed an extension to stay with the team through the 2029-30 season. The contract has an annual base salary of $4 million. It also includes a $500,000 signing bonus and an annual $250,000 escalator, making Staley's total pay approximately $25.25 million.
She has surpassed women's basketball coaches Kim Mulkey, of Louisiana State University (3.2m), and Geno Auriemma (3.1m), of the University of Connecticut. The database showed Mulkey made $3.2 million annually in 2024 and Auriemma made $3.1 million annually.
The team had a record season last year going 38-0 and winning another National Championship.
LiAngelo Ball drops the video for Tweaker
Former NBA player turned rapper, LiAngelo Ball dropped the video for Tweaker recently. The video features Lonzo and LaMelo, and we're not going to lie, the middle Ball brother does have a hit. “Tweaker” debuted at no. 29 on Billboard hot 100 charts. The hit single also helped him land a 13 million dollar record deal with 8 million guaranteed! Even Dame Lillard called it a “slapper”!

Are Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart genius or what?
If you haven't heard of the new Women’s basketball league Unrivaled yet, what are you waiting for? Let’s fill you in if that’s your case. According to the official site (unrivaled.basketball), Unrivaled is: An innovative 3v3 professional women’s basketball league founded by two current U.S. Olympians, Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart. The league will feature 6 teams, with 6 players on each team. The inaugural season is January of 2025 in Miami.
I love that this league was created for several reasons. First, it brings more awareness and fans to women’s basketball. Second, it can help to cut down on the need for women basketball players to go overseas during the offseason to earn a living. Third, the league structure is exciting and features many very talented top tier players.
